The evidence files that you upload on the Update Analysis page or the Evaluation Manager are primarily for you and your team to reference and draw from when building out your analysis and evaluating your progress. These files will NOT be included in reports or as attachments when sharing the report with others. The only people who can see uploaded evidence files are members of your organisation who have been given access to the project in question.
This is for several reasons:
- Evidence files may contain sensitive information which you do not wish to share with people outside your organisation
- Packing a report with too much information is likely to make it less readable and accessible
- Different types of file may be uploaded as evidence, some of which cannot be incorporated into a Word document
Rather than relying on the readers of your report having access to your raw evidence files, it is a good idea to include relevant information from these files within the analysis box of the appropriate stepping stones or step summaries. For example, you may wish to highlight key statistics, testimonial quotes, or images. That way, you can choose which evidence is included in your report and how it is presented.
If you do wish to share one or more of your evidence files, for example with a funder who has specifically asked for certain information, you will need to do this separately outside OutNav - although you may include a link to it within your analysis.
