The first thing you will see when you log in to OutNav is your Dashboard. From here you can get a quick overview of the projects within your organisation. If you cannot see the project you want to work on, you should contact one of your Organisation Administrators and ask them to update your permissions. Your Organisation Administrators are displayed at the top of the Dashboard - hover over one of their icons to see their full name.
On the left hand side of the Dashboard, you will find your list of projects.
Organisation Administrators can reorder projects by dragging and dropping the handles to the left of the project name. They can be sorted into divisions, which can be added directly from the Dashboard using the plus button near the top of the page, or from the Organisation Settings page.
In this list, you can also see various information about each project such as what project type it is (only in specific cases such as parent/child maps), your level of access for the project, when it was last updated, how many people are assigned to it and how many pathways it contains.
Starting work on a project
You can choose an existing project to get started with, by simply clicking on its name. Other options, such as generating reports, viewing tasks and changing the colours of projects, can be accessed by clicking the three dots icon to the lower right of the project box.
You can also view more information about the pathways or people in a project by clicking on the dropdown menus within the project box.
The pathways dropdown shows a list of all the pathways created within that project. Clicking on the title of a pathway will take you directly to it. If you have permission to do so, you will also see a button allowing you to quickly add a new pathway to that project.
The people dropdown shows a list of all the people assigned to that project, including their permission levels. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of everyone with access to that project - for example, organisation administrators have access to all the projects within their organisation, even if they are not specifically assigned to them. If you have administrator permissions for the project, you will also see a "Manage People" button which will take you directly to the User Permissions page of the Project Settings.
You can create a new project (only if you are an Organisation Administrator with a multi-project subscription) by clicking the plus button near the top of the Dashboard, and selecting "Add new project" from the dropdown menu.
Need some help?
The panel on the right hand side of the Dashboard provides links to our bookable online help sessions where you can book a 15-minute one-to-one help session with one of our evaluation and OutNav experts. We’re here to help you with anything from specific OutNav queries to more theoretical and evaluation-focused questions about your OutNav project.
Below these, you will find a link to the Training Zone, where you can view a series of how-to videos taking you through the process of using OutNav in easy steps.
Organisation Settings
If you are an Organisation Administrator and wish to access more advanced settings at the organisation level, such as uploading an organisation logo or managing which users have access to your organisation, you can find a link to the Organisation Settings page near the top right of the Dashboard. You can also access Organisation Settings from the dropdown menu, by clicking your organisation's name from the navigation bar in the top right of the screen.
